African Crocodile
The South African Crocodile (also known as the Nile crocodile) is great aquatic reptiles that resides all through the tropics in Africa. Their diet consists mostly of vertebrates like fish, other reptiles and mammals. Crocodiles are ambush hunters, waiting for fish or land animals to come close, and then hastening out to attack. Crocodiles are cold-blooded predators, and are lethargic, which means they survive long periods without food, and hardly ever need to actively go hunting.
They are an ancient lineage, and are believed to have changed little since the time of the dinosaurs. Crocodiles are thought to be 200 million years old whereas dinosaurs became extinct 65 million years ago. Crocodiles survived great extinction measures.
