The photographer: Johann van der Westhuizen

The Photographer Johann van der Westhuizen a qualified Mechanical engineer and have been taking photos for the last 20 years. In his career he frequently visit and work in various parts of South Africa and have the opportunity to visits and and capture Nature with his camera. 

Background.
Johan completed school at John Vorster Technical high school in Pretoria. From there he went on to completed his Bachelors degree in engineering at the University of Pretoria. Johann Married in 1995 and now have three children. After working in a variety of industries, including 13 months at Ngala Private game reserve close to Hoedspruit in South Africa. From there he moved into the petroleum industry and completed his master degree in engineering management at the University of Pretoria and now spend his time as an freelance engineer and photographer.

Equipment,
Starting in 1983 Johann used an Minolta 100 and in 1999 bought an Minolta Maxxon with an 28 to 210mm Cosina zoom lens. Since August 2006 Johann is using an Sony Alpha 100 with various photo lenses of which the Sigma 200 Fixed view photo lens is probably his favorite.
